Organizing Cases

Group your captures, manage the case list, and get started with the demo.

Cases are how you group related captures in Review. Each case holds the captures for a matter and is the starting point for search, scoring, and summaries.

Creating and editing a case

When you create a case, you can give it a name, an optional description, an optional case/matter ID, and a color label. The description, matter ID, and color are there to help you stay organized — they don't affect how search or scoring behave today.

Renaming, archiving, and restoring

You can rename or edit a case at any time from the same dialog. When you're done with a case, archive it — archived cases move to the Archive area, where you can restore them later if you need them again.

Moving captures between cases

Inside a case, select one or more captures to:

  • Move them to another case
  • Unassign them (they'll show under No case assigned)
  • Create a new case to move them into

How to create, edit, and archive a case

  1. From the Cases list in Review, click + New to create a case, or use Create a new case from the Send to Review dialog while sending captures.
  2. Enter a Case Name and, optionally, a Matter ID.
  3. To rename or edit a case afterward, click the 3 dots next to the case name in the Cases list and choose Rename/edit.
  4. To archive a case, use the same options menu. Archived cases move under the Archive section of the Cases list.
  5. Opening an archived case shows a banner — "This case is archived. It stays read-only until you restore it." — with a Restore button to bring it back to Active.

The demo case

Every account with Review access starts with a pre-loaded demo case so you can explore the features without sending your own captures first. At launch, there are two demo scenarios — a brand-protection example and a personal-injury example — that you can switch between.

You can dismiss the demo case when you no longer need it (you'll get one chance to bring it back, or you can dismiss it permanently). If the demo case is fully removed and you'd like it back, your Page Vault CS contact can restore it.
