Instagram Capture Troubleshooting
Common Errors and How to Fix Them
When capturing Instagram with Page Vault, you may encounter issues signing in, missing data in scrapes, or problems with multi-video posts. Below are the most common errors and recommended solutions.
1. Unable to Sign Into Instagram in the Page Vault Browser
If you can log into Instagram in your personal browser but not in the Page Vault Browser, Instagram may be blocking your login attempt. Try the following steps:
-
Click the Refresh button at the top of the browser and select Reload Blocked Webpage.
-
Click the Gear icon in the top right of the browser and select Clear Cookies.
-
Click Profile at the top of the browser and select End Session.
-
Wait 2–3 minutes before launching a new capture session.
-
When relaunching the browser, click the Gear icon again and select Browser Settings.
-
Toggle on Skip Proxy.
-
Once the browser reloads, navigate to Facebook and sign in.
-
After signing in, return to Browser Settings and toggle Skip Proxy back off to use the Expander.
2. Empty Scrape File or Missing Comments
If you receive an empty scrape or if comments are not captured, the issue is often with the URL format.
-
Instagram recently began adding
?hl=en
to the end of profile URLs. -
This can interfere with Page Vault’s capture tools.
-
Solution: Remove
?hl=en
from the URL and reload the profile. The content will remain the same, but captures will be more complete.
3. Capturing Posts with Multiple Videos
Currently, Page Vault’s video capture tool does not support capturing multiple videos in a single Instagram post.
-
If you encounter this issue, please email support@page-vault.com with the post URL.
-
Our team can assist with capturing these videos on your behalf.
