How to Translate a Web Page
Use Google Translate within Page Vault to capture translated web pages.
Page Vault does not currently offer automatic translation of web pages. However, you can translate and capture a translated version of a webpage by using Google Translate within the Page Vault Browser. Follow these steps:
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Open Google Translate:
-
In the Page Vault Browser, go to:
translate.google.com
-
Important: Do not use the general Google Translate search result or URL (e.g.,
google.com/search?q=google+translate
), as it may not function properly.
-
-
Set Your Translation Languages:
-
Use the down arrows at the top of the two text boxes to set the original and target languages.
-
-
Enter the URL to Translate:
-
Paste the URL of the page you want to capture into the left-hand text box.
-
-
Access the Translated Page:
-
Click the link that appears in the right-hand box. This will open the translated page in a new tab within the Page Vault Browser.
-
A Google Translate bar will appear at the top of the new tab, and the content will begin translating. This may take longer for pages with more content.
-
-
Capture the Translated Page:
-
Once the page has fully loaded, click the Capture button in the Browser.
-
Alternatively, if you're using the Batch tool, paste the translated URL into the "Web Page" section.
-
Important: If using Batch, be sure to copy your cookies from the Page Vault Browser into the "Cookies" section of the Batch tool.
-
For guidance, see the help article: How to Copy Cookies from the Browser.
-
-
By using Google Translate this way, you can successfully translate and capture web pages directly in Page Vault.
