How to Capture Social Media Videos

Use Batch to Capture Videos Across Platforms

The Batch tool allows you to capture videos from a variety of social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and others.

Note: This feature is only available for accounts with the Batch add-on.
If your firm has Batch but you do not see a link in your Portal, contact Page Vault Support to turn Batch on for your user name. If your firm does not have the Batch add-on and you are interested in getting it, please contact support@page-vault.com

Steps to Capture Videos

  1. Gather URLs

    • Copy the direct URL of each video you would like to capture.

    • You can submit up to 5000 URLs at a time.

Important: Each Batch Video job must only contain URLs from a single domain (e.g., all Facebook, all TikTok, or all Instagram).

  1. Open Batch in the Portal

  2. Create a New Batch Job

    • On the “New Batch Job” page, click the Video button.

    • Select the folder where you would like to save the captures.

    • Enter a Job Name. We recommend using a unique name for each job. All captures from that job will be saved in a sub-folder with the same name.

    • (Optional) Enter a Case Matter ID if you’d like to tie the capture to a specific case.

  3. Add Cookies (if required)

    • In the Page Vault Browser, navigate to the platform (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).

    • Log in, or verify that you’re already logged in.

    • Click the gear icon on the right side of your browser.

    • Select Copy Cookies.

    • Return to the Batch job request in the Portal and paste the cookies into the cookies text box.

  4. Submit URLs

    • Paste your list of video URLs into the URL List text box.

    • Each URL must be on its own line and include http:// or https://.

    • You may paste up to 500 URLs per job and run up to 10 jobs at a time.

  5. Start Capture

    • Click Start Batch Capture.

    • If there are unsupported URLs, you’ll receive an error notice. Adjust the URLs as suggested, then click Start Batch Capture again.

  6. Check Job Status

    • Open the Job History tab in your Portal to see the progress and results of your Batch job.
