How to Capture Instagram Stories

Instagram Stories and Story Highlights require a few extra steps to capture with Page Vault. Since Instagram does not provide direct story URLs, you’ll first use a third-party site to generate the links, then complete the capture in Page Vault.

Step 1: Open the Instagram profile

1. Navigate to the Instagram profile where the stories or highlights are posted.

2. Copy the profile’s username from the URL.

Step 2: Use StorySaver.net to access story URLs

1. In a new browser tab, go to storysaver.net.

2. Paste the Instagram username into the “Download Instagram Stories” field.

3. Click Download.

4. Complete any CAPTCHA or verification as prompted.

5. Scroll down to view available stories.

6. For each story:

   • Right-click on Save as Photo (or the video option).

   • Select Copy Link Address.

Step 3: Set up your Page Vault batch capture

1. Open the Page Vault Portal and launch the Batch Software.

2. Create a new folder for the capture (e.g., IG Stories).

3. Enter a Job Name (e.g., the Instagram username).

4. Paste the copied story URLs into the Document URL List.

Step 4: Run the capture

1. Review all pasted URLs (both photo and video stories are supported).

   • Photos will save as .jpeg files.

   • Videos will save as .mp4 files.

   • Metadata will be captured with each file.

2. Click Start Document Batch Capture.

3. Page Vault will capture the stories and save them to your designated folder.
