Advanced Options for Captures
Customize your Page Vault capture settings for accurate and optimized results
The Advanced Options section in the Page Vault Browser’s capture dialog box gives you added control over how a webpage is captured. Below is a breakdown of each setting and when to use it.
Header on First Page Only
Many websites have a floating header or navigation menu that remains visible as you scroll. Enabling this option ensures that the header appears only on the first page of your capture, preventing it from repeating on every page.
When to use: To avoid duplicate headers on multi-page captures.
Standard Width
This setting ensures your capture is optimized by automatically resizing the Page Vault Browser window.
-
Enabled by default
-
Helps preserve layout and formatting consistency
When to use: Leave enabled for best visual output unless a specific width is required, disable if you notice content is being cut off or missing
PDF Page Overlap
Page Vault captures include a portion of the previous page at the top of the next page. This overlap helps confirm that content hasn’t been cut off or skipped during capture.
-
Default setting: 175 pixels
-
Adjustable: Increase or decrease as needed for clarity
When to use: To adjust the amount of repeated content in captures
Delay Between Screenshots
Some websites render content with a delay as you scroll. If parts of the page appear incorrectly in your capture, increase the delay between screenshots to allow time for content to fully load before the next screenshot is taken.
When to use: If you notice loading issues or missing content in your capture.
Select Scroll Box to Capture
Certain elements—like social media comments—scroll independently from the main page. Use this option to target those elements specifically.
How to use:
-
Check Select Scroll Box to Capture.
-
Choose the appropriate container from the dropdown.
-
The selected scroll box will be highlighted in the browser.
Additional settings:
-
Scroll into view: Automatically jumps to the selected scroll box before capturing.
-
100% body container: Use if the entire website is rendered inside a scrollable container. Only enable this if a regular capture fails.
Use these advanced options to customize your captures for accuracy, clarity, and full content coverage.
