How to Capture Reddit

Capturing Reddit Threads and Subreddits

💡These steps follow the redesigned Page Vault Browser. Legacy screens may look a little different, but the workflow is the same! (The legacy browser retires July 15, 2026.)

Page Vault does not currently offer a Reddit expander, but you can capture Reddit pages using the standard Capture tool by following these steps:

  1. Open the Reddit thread you want to capture in your Page Vault Browser.

  2. In the sidebar, click Auto-scroll to load content. Page Vault will scroll the page and load as much content as possible.

  3. Use CTRL+F to search for keywords like “replies” or “more replies.” This helps identify sections that need to be expanded.

  4. Manually expand all replies needed.

  5. Once all relevant content is visible, make your capture.

Note: Content expansion must be done manually. If you need an entire subreddit captured, each thread must be opened and captured individually using the steps above.

Troubleshooting Reddit Access Errors

When accessing Reddit in Page Vault Browser, you may encounter an error page. If this happens:

  1. Check if the page gives you the option to log in.

    • If you see the login button, simply sign in with your Reddit account.

    • If you do not see a login option, continue with the steps below.

  2. Open the gear menu at the bottom of the side panel and select Browser Settings.
  3. Toggle on Skip Proxy.
  4. Restart your browser when prompted.
  5. Navigate back to Reddit and sign in.
  6. Once signed in, return to Browser Settings and toggle Skip Proxy back off before starting your capture.

A Reddit account is required to bypass this page and capture content.
