How to Capture an Entire Facebook Profile

Guide to Standard Facebook Capture in Page Vault

💡 Looking for the legacy browser? Switch to the legacy version of this article

The Page Vault Browser handles Facebook captures with a dedicated capture type that scrolls the timeline, opens every post, expands comments and replies, and (optionally) saves embedded videos — all in a single job. Sign in, point the browser at the profile or post you want to preserve, and follow the steps below for the best results.

Steps to Capture Facebook

  1. Open the Page Vault Browser and paste the Facebook URL into the address bar. Press Enter.
  2. Sign in to Facebook with your examiner account.
  3. Click Capture page in the sidebar to open the Capture panel.
  4. The Capture type is automatically set to Facebook Page (Opens and captures all posts) for profiles, or Facebook post capture (Expands comments and replies) for individual posts. Leave this selected.
  5. Toggle on Capture Embedded Videos if you want playable MP4 files saved alongside the PDF captures.
  6. (Optional) Adjust the Page limit to cap how many PDF pages the timeline capture can produce. This replaces the legacy pixel-based limit.
  7. Select your destination folder (required).
  8. Add a case matter ID, or notes if needed.
  9. Click Capture!

Page Vault will scroll through the full timeline and open each post to expand all comments and replies. You'll receive a two-PDF output in your selected folder: one PDF of the full timeline, and a second PDF containing every post with comments expanded, merged together. If Capture Embedded Videos is toggled on, any videos will also be delivered as MP4s in the same folder.
