How to Capture Podcasts/Audio Files
Using Page Vault to Save Audios
Page Vault can capture a wide range of audio file. This includes podcast episodes, hosted audio recordings, interviews, and other standalone audio content available on the web. While Apple Podcasts often delivers the cleanest results, the same workflow applies to most platforms that stream audio through a direct media file.
Steps to Extract the Direct Audio URL
To capture an audio file, you’ll need to extract its direct audio URL using the free Chrome extension Video Download Helper. Follow these steps:
-
Open the webpage where the audio file is hosted and make sure the audio is actively playing..
-
Click on the Video Download Helper icon in your browser’s extensions menu.
-
From the dropdown menu, select the option to extract the video URL.
-
Multiple URLs may appear, since the tool detects all media on the page. If the first one does not work, try another option.
-
Copy the correct URL and paste it into the Videos section of Batch.
-
If an error occurs, try entering the URL into the Documents section instead.
Notes and Tips
-
Apple Podcasts typically provide the highest success rate, but this process works for many other audio hosting platforms as well.
-
Video DownloadHelper detects all media assets on a page, so not every URL listed will be the correct audio file. Some trial and error is normal—annoying, but manageable.
-
If playback fails in one Batch category, switching between Videos and Documents can often resolve the issue.
