How to Capture Individual Instagram Posts

Capture multiple Instagram posts at once using a list of URLs

Capturing multiple Instagram posts doesn’t have to be a click-fest. Page Vault offers two efficient workflows depending on how you prefer to operate: directly through the Page Vault Browser or via the Batch tool in your Portal. Both methods create individual, fully expanded PDFs of each post.

Method 1: Capture a List of Posts in the Page Vault Browser

  1. From your Portal, click Capture to launch the Page Vault Browser.
  2. Navigate to Instagram and sign in to access all available content.
  3. Open any one of the Instagram posts you'd like to capture — this will be your starting URL.
  4. Click Capture Page in the sidebar to open the Capture panel.
  5. The Capture type is automatically set to Instagram post capture
  6. Click the + next to Bulk capture additional posts.
  7. Paste your remaining Instagram post URLs into the text box.
    • Each URL must be on its own line.
    • We recommend 50–100 URLs at a time to avoid platform errors.
    • Posts can come from more than one profile.
  8. Confirm to add the URLs to your job.
  9. Toggle on Capture Embedded Videos if you'd like the MP4 file of any videos in the posts saved alongside the PDF captures.
  10. Select the folder where you'd like to save your captures, then add a case matter ID, or Notes if needed.
  11. Click Capture!

The Page Vault Browser will load each post one at a time, expand all comments and replies, and create an individual PDF for each post. Any embedded videos will be saved as MP4s in the same folder, so you get both the PDF of the post and the playable video file from a single job.

Method 2: Capture Instagram Posts Using Batch + Bulk URL Capture

This is the recommended method if you need both the MP4 file of an Instagram video and the PDF version of the post captured together.

If you prefer a more Portal-centric workflow—or you’re already organizing other bulk jobs—Batch offers another streamlined way to run Instagram URL captures.

  1. In your Portal, go to Batch.

  2. Create a new job and choose Social Media for the job type.

  3. In the Social Media dropdown, select Instagram.

  4. Choose Bulk URL Capture.

  5. Paste your Instagram post URLs into the Post URLs box (one per line).

  6. Select if you would like to have any embedded videos captured
  7. Since Instagram requires authentication, choose one of the following:

    • Authenticate via the Page Vault Browser Extension if you're logged into Instagram in Chrome or another supported browser.

    • Toggle Enter cookies manually and paste your Instagram cookies.

  8. Click Capture to begin the batch job.

Each post will be processed individually, and PDFs will be generated automatically once the batch completes.
